I was asked in February 2018 to prepare a visual identity and printed and digital material for Richard Caborn, former Minister for Sport and a candidate for the South Yorkshire Mayoralty. Richard was not shortlisted for the nomination but I designed his candidate statement, sent to over 10,000 members in South Yorkshire, as well as social media advert graphics and video subtitling.
I was presented with an initial logo and font choice, and from there had to develop branding which would be consistent across all printed and digital materials, demonstrating Richard's long and storied history in the Labour movement while making him appear modern and relevant to the contest. The font choice helped in this regard, calling to mind sports branding and Richard's role as Sports Minister under the last Labour government.
