I'm a freelance graphic designer, writer and communications professional, originally from the UK. After moving to Sheffield, England and earning a BA in Journalism Studies, I worked for five years in a variety of roles in British politics, including working for a frontbench politician, for the Labour Party and for the Co-operative Party. I obtained an MA in American History in January 2020.
I have been freelancing as a designer since 2016 and have worked for a wide range of clients from political campaigns to theatre festivals and various third sector organisations. I began as a specialist in print design but my skillset has grown to include social media graphics, illustration, web design and development, and motion graphics.
As well as graphic design I work occasionally as a freelance journalist, with a particular interest in politics, data-driven transport and urbanism writing, and video games. My work has been published in a range of publications including CityMetric, Prospect, Wireframe, the Local Government Chronicle and the Guardian. My first book, exploring homebrew video game development, will be published in 2023.
In my spare time I write science fiction novels and short stories, and create video games as a solo developer, as well as enjoying hiking, urban travel and photography.
In late 2021 I moved to Seattle, Washington to pursue new opportunities, and in January 2023 relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia. I am currently seeking new clients on either side of the Atlantic, or permanent and contract work based in Canada.
